Imaginary Realist Sharon Russell delicately expresses universal themes from our collective unconscious in her timeless "Art for the Soul" paintings. Sharon's original, fine art technique of combining watercolors, prisma-colored pencils and a sea-salt wash, creates rich and enchanting images to inspire a deeper connection with the soul and all of nature.
Early in her career, Sharon worked as a graphic designer in Los Angeles. She later studied Jungian Psychology and practiced as a psychotherapist in Ojai, California for over 15 years. An artist since childhood, Sharon continues to create her storybook, mythological and animal watercolor images. They are available in Fine Art giclée prints, digital prints and signed art cards. Several of Sharon's original watercolors are currently available for purchase. |
For the Love of AnimalsAnimals have always been a special part of my life, having grown up with a lumberjack father and going into the forest. This is why you will often find animals in my paintings.
Animals have feelings and want to live freely, just like us. They need to be treated with respect and love. We need to understand those that are wild and be cautious with them, but we also need to not harm them. Every life form is precious and has a part to play in the Great Mystery. Let us be mindful of this tender kinship as we share Mother Earth with other living creatures. |
